4th gen tranny

Does anyone know if the 4th gen 4 speed auto trans will bolt up to the 3.5 block? I pm'd tilley and got no response to this, but then again, his pm box is probably packed. Any help is greatly appreciated. And has anyone heard of the AEBS 3.5 stroker kit being worth it? I talked to a local shop and they have never even heard of AEBS. I saw the convo with SR, and he pointed out the fact that on their website, they can't even do math

First, f*ck AEBS.

For 9,000$ (say, shipped and installed) you would running circles around 99% of maximas with the best turbo setup ever.

As for the tranny, it will bolt up (basically the "mold" of the blocks for the 3.0 and 3.5 are the same), but JapmaxSE, who did the 3.5 swap, had an auto and as soon as the 3.5 went on it said no thanks and lasted three days.

Unless you get that auto built, I would convert to 5-speed.

See if you can buy a 3.5 with a 5-speed from a 02-05 Altima together. It's basically the same tranny we have in our manual 4th gens, but with slightly different ratios, and possibly stronger.

Thanks for the info J. I figured it would, but I thought I would ask around before I started buying things. And I will be having the trans built up for the power. My girlfriend is helping me find most of the parts, and supplying most of the cash for it. Her only request, was that it stays auto, even though she never would drive it.

Yeah, another post I read while researching this was an auto built by Jeff from maximumtuning.net. I think the guy said with install, raxles, and the bulletproof trans, it was 3000 and some change. I know its not cheap, but I need to find out what don? from NRA will do it for. I've seen his name mentioned before about building up auto trans, with his downside being of, he gets to it whenever the hell he feels like it.

I WILL get it. I haven't done it yet. But, 4.10s will have me where I want in the 1/4 mile with a 115mph trap speed. Highway driving will definitely suck when cruising at 70mph. I will be revving a little over 3K and guzzling fuel. But, that is the price I am willing to pay for insanely great acceleration from 0-115mph.

Rob at NRH is still pricing everything for me. He is not even sure he can rig up a 4.10 final drive for my car. He is still researching it for me. I am confident he will figure it out and still give me the lifetime warranty on the built transmission.

At 75 mph, my car revs 3000 rpm. I dont mind it. I suppose that means I have a theoretical top speed of 160 mph.

Tell him to try the new maximas final drive. 1995-2003 is the old 3.823 final drive (5-speed), but 2004-2005 6-speed maximas got a 4.133 Final Drive. Spec V's also have this.
