mafs

i figure you guys would know the answer to this.is there any diff between the 300zx mafs and the vq mafs?except the wiring.

I believe they are good up to 1998 maximas, but you should check the stickies in the Boosted forum instead.

The external physical dimensions are the same, but the Z32 mafs unit uses a different sensor (with a different connector, as you mention) that is calibrated to measure more airflow than the A32 maf sensor. So you can't just replace an A32 mafs with the Z32 mafs.

Also, all Z32 mafs are the same, whether for a NA or TT Z, and the Inifiniti J30 (not sure what years) used the same sensor although with a connector that is different from both the A32 and Z32 sensors.

If your question is about a Z32 mafs compared to the VQ35 mafs, that I do not know, but it would be interesting to find out.

I've been thinking a long time about making a flow bench. Some day I will and then I can measure mafs voltage vs. airflow for all the different mafs.
