VQ30 Pistons and Rods
VQ30 Pistons and Rods
I don't know if anyone else saw this article in the new Super Street, but I thought it was interesting.
Top Secret made their own GT-R out of the V35 Skyline. They ended up using a VK45 motor, and put VQ30 rods and pistons in the bottom end. I think they said a ball park figure of 800HP (of course there were a lot of other modifcations, and a turbo..)

I don't ever plan to go anywhere near 700HP, but this has made me wonder would it be more beneficial for a 4th gen hybrid swap (3.0 botton end, then use the 3.5 block) over the semi-complete 3.5 swap (3.0 timing/ecu, no vtc)?
Sorry, I don't have much knowledge on building engines.. I would definately like to know more though.

our rods are the same as the vq30det in the y33 GT-U. its the pistons that are different. theyre 9:1 comp so they can handle the boost. our motors are more stout than most people think. all the nissan v series racing motors mostly use the vq30det rods and pistons
