VIAS timing

i figure someone has asked this before, but i cant find it anywhere.

is there any way to change the timing on the VIAS valve? i would like to see the difference if it were to open at 4000-4500 rather than 5000. i figure the only time i bring it over 4000 is when i need a bit of giddy-up. i would like to dyno tune this and see where it is best (which may end up being at 5000 anyway)

I am the one working on it. I am waiting to get my SAFC II so I can dyno and tune at the same time.

maybe i do not understand the question. what does timing have to do with the VIAS. are you asking about changing the switchover point? if so, all you need is a rpm switch which can be had for around 50 bucks. a SAFC can be helpful in gaining some power but it has nothing to do with the vias switchover. if you want to be able to tune and change the vias then you should be looking to pick up a VAFC II. the VAFC is typically used by hondas/acuras to adjust their vtec switchover and to tune with. i have seen a few threads that suggested without headers a switchover of 4800 was somewhat more beneficial and with headers around 5000. the stock switch is set for 5200 so it is only a minor difference but every bit helps.

You can cut the wire on the VI harness (the green and yellow wire, to the right of the harness if your facing the engine) and splice that into a RPM switch to control different opening and closing settings.

or if you wait a couple of weeks I will dyno test and finally release something that will perform the functions of a S-AFC and RPM switch as well as advance/retard ignition timing.

Exactlly. The RSM has a rpm activated switch. using that wire I can send a signal earlier.
