00-01 engine swap into a 4th gen ???

I was just wondering if i can just put an entire DE-K engine w/ everything:manifold,IACV,and TB into one my 96' or 98' Maxima ? What would i need to make this set-up work?

Basically the same as swapping a 00-01 VI onto a 95-99 motor. I believe there are a few threads about this on the first page.

Thanks I know its basically the same motor just with a VI but, I have high miles and wanted to just swap the whole thing...just wondering if there was any necessary fabrication or an ECU swap needed as well?

Any VQ from 1995 to 2005, whether it's 3.0 or 3.5, will work on a 95-96-97 ECU (not sure for 98). But the 3.5 requires more work.

are those your throttle cables looped around the top of the motor? and other than the rpm switch what other issues did you come across?

those are 2000 gas and cruise cables, original ones still could be used, but they looked bent too much to me... the other things are... like 2 rear ign. coils (cyl. 3 and 5) had to be grinded and now are retained in place by one screw only (each); pcv would not fit unless relocated; i reworked all the vacuum lines (for egr and all that stuff) because of the stupid extra hose in 2k cooling system...

So the mounts and everything are the same, did you use some of the 4th Gen components on the engine? or does it sit just a little different? I'm wondering why the ig coils would need to be shaved if they were already on the motor, and all the wiring harness and everything plugged right up?
