I'll take pics of it tomorrow, basically you go to one of those places where they buy/fix and sell crashed vehicles...tell him you want a crashed 5th gen..he'll go to the auction and bid for you...you pay him like $400.
I got this for $1200 + 400 his fee...= $1600 total
manifold and valve cover are damaged thou, but at the speed shop they said that's minor.

Or in this case, a 6 speed will be good enough. We all know the 6th Gen engine makes some serious ponies, and this should be a good swap overall.

attaching the 6 speed mount to the body is the easiest thing. is it held in place with bolts instead of beign welded in. all you have to do is remove the spot welds from the 4th gen mount and drill new holes to hold the 6 speed mount in. i love my 6 speed. gas mileage is excellent especially on the freeway.

, I like this guy.
02-03 Maximas have diff block mounting holes than Altimas and 6th gens and Murranos. I had a chance to get a 04 Maxima engine for free- had a rod knock, from the dealer but the motor mount brackets looked way off.
Just get a 02-03 Maxima VQ or a 02+ Altima VQ. Most people who have done this swap used the 02 Maxima VQ and I used the 02 Altima and both work exactly the same. Go with what is proven to work.
3.5L Altimas have no oil cooler on them, atleast the 3 I worked on didn't have any which I found very supprising. Oil pans are different also. 04 Max and Murrano have the same blocks, and from looking at the Max and Altima 3.5Ls its clear that mounting brackets are in diff spots. On the Series III VQ35DE.
