Actually i doing alot of research on individual throttle body set-up on Maxima before, and i discuss with my tuner its ok to using the stock ECU to control the idle but you'll have problem during switch on A/C the idle will drop and following by engine stop .
My tuner who are expert custom made throttle body and tuning Microtech ECU,suggest me to install individual throttle body with the powerful fuction stay alone ECU like Microtech , Motec , Haltech etc... to have a proper idle , correct A/F ratio and maximum engine performance get huge gain in hp / tq (this will cost me a bomb)

I'm looking into different stand alone system right now. But I would most likely do my 5 speed conversion before porceeding to get ITB's for my Maxima. I might scrap the whole idea and just turbocharge my max since i would most likely spend the same amount of dollars.....

The vast majority of the time it is for high reving NA engines, but the GTR's RB26DETT had ITBs stock with a plenum right behind it. TWM makes ITBs for several cars, but unless you had cams and wanted to rev to 8000+ then I wouldn't think it necessary.

Nissan already has us ready for ITB. Lower IM's with swirl vavles can be modified to be true ITB's
