Out of a 5th gen, the clutch master, and clutch pedal won't work. Everything else should.

yup, it was done on my '95 actually. you can pretty much use the same parts, except the clutch pedal bracket is different. you can use the clutch master cylinder if you want, but you have to change the pushrod w/ the 'C' shaped bracket on it (the part that the pin goes through to connect it to the clutch pedal). it's longer in the 5th gens than the 4th gens, so if you happen to get a 5th gen donor car, it's like a $10 part instead of gettin a whole new master cylinder.

shift rods/control rods worked out well for me, i have a courtesynissan STS (which is pretty much the same as the b&M) and the shifter is not even close to hitting the trim in any gear (i heard some ppl have problems w/ this before)

Help me please, car goes into shop tomorrow

I was just rechecking the instructions site below (vqpower.com) and now the parts list mentions a 5speed starter?? is this true or will my Auto starter work fine?

http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...howpage&pid=30

Parts Needed:
5spd tranny (try and get the I30 LSD or Canadian Maxima LSD if possible – doubt it)
Both Manual drive shafts (if you have ABS you need specific ones, if you don't have ABS you can use ABS ones)
1 clutch kit (clutch disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing)
2 shifting rods (support rod + control rod) (acquire used w/ all the hardware)
Return spring (connect to the 2 shifting rods (Buy this new, the stiffer the tighter your shifter feels)
1 5spd starter
1 shifter (Acquire used to get nuts and bolts (buy with the shifter rods)
1 shifter console piece (interior)
1 shift consul bracket (Replaces your auto one) (interior) (dealer name plate bolt and transaxle hole cover)
1 brake pedal
1 clutch pedal
1 master cylinder
Hydraulic lines for clutch
1 slave cylinder for clutch
1 extra set of tranny harnesses (might come w/ 5spd tranny)
1 18ga wire and wiretaps
Assorted cotter pin set.
1 Manual Fly wheel
1 Manual motor mount
Tranny Fluid (GL-4 or redline is preferable)
Locking pin and clip for the clutch pedal to the master cylinder (you could bend a nail but I would go to the dealer and pay $4)
2 nuts that fit the threads on the clutch pedal.
1 bolt that bolts in the top of the clutch pedal (the dealer can find it's size for you)
1 bolt that connects the control rod to the tranny (the dealer can find it's size for you)
1 Haynes Manual just in case you need extra help

In addition to ^^^ ... that list says "1 brake pedal and 1 clutch pedal"

The list up top says "assembly" not "pedal" ... any difference?
Assembly sounds like it has a lot more stuff that comes with it.

for the bolts listed how many of each do we need. or does that one part number include all the bolts needed for that part. price seems rediculously high if its just 1 bolt.

231577A00 $4.61
Engine / transaxle - Transaxle parts - Flywheel - Bolt

There is no 5spd starter. Its all the same starter. The hal instructions and vqpower are wrong.

$1200, every bolt/washer/part except for the the ECU. But in this instance (A32) you don't need the ECU to make it work.

Someone had a complete A32 set(minus ECU) f/s for that price.

now its time to start mine, my girl is pitching for half of it for my b-day, so by spring break of 08 I will be a manual, so by may 3rd (my b-day) I will have been a happy man for 2 months. Thanks for this parts list. I'm going to do a stage 2 clutch and a lightened flywheel for aftermarket parts on this.

Only question is I am not going to LSD, I honestly don't care to have it, I just want to be manual thats all that matters, would getting an older tranny from a 95 to 99 be cheaper? And what was your average price for the tranny?

since the list only lists the drivers side axle, does that mean we can use the pass side axle from an auto tranny?

Yes. I read a lot of people saying you needed to use the axle bracket (that bolts to the motor) from the manual passenger axle if you wanted to use the auto pass. axle. There was no evidence saying that this was anything more than a rumor, but I didn't want to risk it, so I went ahead and got the bracket.

Holding the auto and manual brackets side by side, they have no discernible differences whatsoever, aside from the cast "A" and "M" on them. Obviously only a couple of mm difference in their size could damage the seal on the tranny or make something not line up, so I'd get the bracket; still, I didn't see ANY difference between the two at all so the auto bracket may be fine.

So what about the timing position ring on the Flywheel when going with a Fidanza flywheel. Do I have to source a stock MT flywheel to get the timing ring off

or

is there a partnumber for the timing ring?
