Clutch problem...

I have had the clutchnet 6-puck since I put the VQ35 in (put about 6000 hard miles on it (lots of drag racing and some street racing)) and today after a 2nd gear WOT run it suddenly slipped. I parked the car a few hundred feet away because NONE of the gears work, literally. Even Reverse doesn't work. It just revs freely like it's in neutral.

Now I don't have much experience with manual cars, but damn, clutches don't suddenly die like that. It doesn't grab AT ALL, in none of the gears. I parked it there in hope that if I let it cool down for a few hours or even a day or two it might grab enough to get it back home (about 7-8 miles).

What gives? Anybody ever had that happen? It certainly isn't the tranny, all gears shift fine. Is it unrealistic to hope that it might grab if I let it cool down.

EDIT: It was the axle actually. The f*cker popped out. Is that ridiculous or what?

Did any unusual noises accompany this event?
Is the force to depress your clutch pedal still the same?
Were you in the process of shifting gears when the engine started free-revving?

I have burned up a few clutches in the past and I could always smell them slipping long before they wouldn't grab at all.

Did you try engaging any gears without pressing the clutch in with the engine running?

Well sounds similar to what happened in my 240SX when a spring broke off the clutch and got wedged inbetween the flywheel and clutch disk so it couldn't engage. I am not sue if your 6 puck clutch has any springs on it but sounds like your broke something.

No and yes, respectively.

I tried all gears with the car running, the shifter feels normal, seems all of them engage correctly.

Sprung hub.

Well the car will go unrepaired for this year, it goes in storage and that's that. I'm beginning to get temped by swapping a 04 6-speed tranny with the 4.13 final drive and a lightweight flywheel/clutch kit. I'm getting tired of opening up the old 5-speed, and tired of the notchy shifter and gear shredding.

Went back to start it up today... and now there is a weird sound when I release the clutch, like something came loose and fell.

What exactly is an "ish"?
