i'm in a big dilemma right now I'm going to leave to go to asia by the end of this summer to work. I just got my 3.5 done and love my car since the day i bought it. Now the question is should i sell my car (which my wife wants!!) or should i store it and take it out for a spin when i come back here. I come back to visit my family once to twice per year. like 2 weeks each time. Will my engine and car be ok to not run for like 6 months at a time?

 

how about we trade cars then sell mine. so atleast you know a maxima lover is putting the 3.5 to good use. But in all reality I would keep it. It's a 99 and just put a car cover over it and when you get home recharge the battery and put new oil in if that.

 

lol unfortunately, i'll be keeping my max i think. I'll probably leave it in my dad's hand while i'm gonne.

 

I went out of the country for a couple of years and left my old altima on jackstands. I changed the oil and ran the gas tank bone dry. I put a little bit of oil in each cylinder and put mothballs and a moisture absorber in the interior. When I came back I changed the oil, put some gas in it, changed the fuel filter, after a bit of cranking it fired right up and ran fine for another 40k miles when I sold it.

 

I wouldn't sell!

Unfortunately, I will be selling the Max in end of august If i keep it, i'm only gonna be driving it like 2 weeks in a year and shipping to asia is too expensive and not worth it. I'm in Montreal Canada. I know of 2 ppl who has offered me a price but for now i'm gonna go with the highest bidder

 

I will keep me eyes out for a F/S thread from you. I have a Toronto Trip planned for august, I could fly to montreal purcahse, and enjoy my vacation with a new max...
