New Apexi AFC NEO?
New Apexi AFC NEO?
Does any one know much about this new product from Apexi? The Apexi ACF NEO: http://www.optionimports.com/aafcneofuco.html
it just looks like a regular AFC but with more points....still no timing adjustments
I'd just pay $250 for a regular V-AFCII with the 24 points and call it a day...i read all the features on this NEO version, and they are all carried over from the regular AFC...just a waste of money..

and i'm cool with saving $175 and not having a colorful display...90% of my driving I don't even look at my v-afcii

I only look at it when I feel missfire at idle, hahaha. Blasted coils

depending on what your current AFR looks like, then 24 points may not be justified....but would u rather pay $375 for 16 points and a more colorful display? I think i'll keep my 24 points even if I don't use all of them....can't beat the $250 price tag for a vafcii

VAFC-II
12 point fuel manipulation in 100 RPM increments.
SAFC-II
12 point fuel correction in 200 RPM increments
Both systems utilize a Hi-Lo setting (yeah, it's a little different in the VAFC I think)...meaning that both units would have a total of 24 points. It's just setup a little differently. Granted the VAFC can trigger / control the VIAS if mem serves....but that doesn't necessarily make the unit better. Just different.
The NEO as I see it looks impressive. If it replaces both boxes in one...that likely would indicate that it uses the VAFC-II rpm correction setup. I would make the assumption that those 16 points...ALSO have a HI-LO setting....for a total of 32 correction points.
If that's the case...then this might be quite the cool little system.

The SAFC-II has two 12x2 maps, but you have to switch between them manually, so you can only use 12 points at a time. They will always be two separate maps.

maybe this NEO does offer 16pts into 1 map...but has seperate high and low cams equaling to 32pts of tuning...now thats alot....but in all honesty...my V-AFCII with 24 points covers nearly the whole RPM spectrum on stock limiter maxima....i can tune from 1800-6400 VERY percisely....
for that kinda money NEO runs for, might as well spend the extra $200 and get the real ****, emanage ultimate...i heard the tuning points on that is way more percise than any piggyback out
Granted the EU is the way to go for UBER-TUNING...however...it's also a LOT more complicated to tune based on what I have seen people going through to get it up and running. Someone just wanting to mildly tune their ride might find this PERFECT.

It might load a little slow right now because I am seeding torrents.

I did notice that the wiring diagrams were still for JDM cars. It listed the 350Z as having a pin out for tach signal which isn't true for US spec cars.

I'm installing the neo on friday the 6th of october. Robin at synoptic tuning is doing it for me in montreal quebec! he is suppose to be the g-d of nissan tuning! He's going to do it on a Dynapack {http://www.dynapack.com} he told me he might be able to tune variable intake system to produce more power aswell
worst dyno ever? are you kidding? dynapack is notorious for being the most accurate and hence the best for tuning bar none...in addition, they are mobile so you can take them anywhere there is power...
OK .they arent that bad but...Dyno Dynamics Variable Load Dynos are the way to go....if the shop doesnt have the proper water cooling system or if they run cold water thru it contantly they cant be a super ***** to tune on....BTW my source for Info is a local well repspected tuner who knows what he is talking about.....
the dynapack is one of the best tests i can use i've used the floor dyno jet and the results aren't even close to as accurate as the dynapack! i've so impatient waiting to go get the neo installed tommorow!
I've used a dynojet to find out how much hp i have it gave me 189-195whp (6450 rpm) in all the runs i did! I took my car to use the dynapack and it showed 172-173.9 whp (6450 rpm) the two dyno graphs were exactly the same...
... yet the whp for every rpm was at a different level! goes to show how two dynos will never give the same results! i got my car tuned and changed my a/f to 13.5 aprox, it gave me 5-10whp(1450-5000rpm)& 13-17.5 whp(5000-6450rpm) i went from {max-whp 173.9} to {max-whp 191.2-192} the neo made my maxima hll *** on the dyno jet i'm told i'll put 210-215 WHP :-)

the neo does 50rpm increments and has 16 points on hi throttle and 16 points on low throttle (+-50%), its color screen can be adjusted for many colors and the buttons too (diff colors than screen) it has up two for display (a/f cor, volts, rpm, af%,throttle) it can be digital or analog(the analog doesn't work great but the digital is so presise!) it can be used to burn less gas and make ur car boost up 5-20whp i gained 17.5 i couldn't beleive the difference! if anyone has a question i'll check back in a few days!

5th gen 2000 se 5 speed, my car is much faster now, gaining 17-18 whp from 5000rpm up really makes a huge difference. The y-pipe gives like 10hp but untill u get it leaned out u don't knoew how fast u can really go! it was a/f ratio of 11.4 before i leaned it out to 13.5! i plan on doing the cat back system this mounth and then going to see how much more power i can free up!
so does this fuel computer actually work? i just found this today and would like to know what exactly it does. does it tune the transmission stuff or just the fuel. is there a chip that does transmission and all that stuff like the ford truck computers? thanks.
