well i called up summit and spoke to a tech. he said if i get the mds 8950, i need to buy this module, to adjust the pins for the rpm? so i just ordred the summit and its on back order till 5/9. long time so as of know i'm just gona use a rocker switch and turn it on manually.

Get the MSD 8969, its digital, no pills, dial any rpm you want digital readout, displays rpm constantly. Easy install.

I ran into the same problem, doing my VI swap this weekend and summit is on backorder. I went with the Baker Electronix rpm window switch, i have 8 setpoints to choose from (high rpm "off" setting is set at 8k, so i can use it as a straight rpm switch). Its only $55 shipped, and they were fast and courteous. www.bakerelectronix.com
Of course, i havent installed it yet, so no comment on how well it works yet.
