getting a 3.5

found a vq35de with 7k miles and for only 880. i think its a good buy. if i can find a decent transportation im going to pick it up tomorrow. the salvage yard said it has a broken timing gear cover and gears are fine. can i just use the one off my vq30de motor or do i have to get one new one?

sounds like a good price, but i would still try to haggle. tell them you'd need to replace the cover.

I wouldnt buy it. The motor probably took a pretty good shot to break the timing chain cover. You never know what else is messed up on the inside. Forget the warentee cause thats alot of hassle to put it in and find out something else is messed up. Then haggle with them for the money back and yadda yadda yadda. Stay away from that motor.

im pretty sure that the timing cover isnt easy to break... Dont buy a broken vq invest your money elsewhere.
