How to check for TDC?

Hey, i'm in the middle of my 3.5 swap, and I'm pretty sure that piston #1 is at TDC, the mark on the crank pulley lined up with the mark on the timing chain cover, and the cams were in the right place, but anyone know how else to check now? The 3.5 cam sprockets and timing chain are off now, and I can move the cams freely. Tomorrow i'll put on the adapters and 3.0 cam sprockets, but I wanna know if there is any other way I can check for TDC. I'm just worried that my timing will be off when I start the car.

Anyone shed light on this?

Thanks,
-Freddy

take a plastic straw or something of that nature and pull the spark plug out, set the straw in the plug hole and rotate the crank until it tops out and starts to fall back, measure distance and rotate 720 degrees to put it back on compression stroke

another and even easier way would be to pull the valve cover and watch the the valves when they all are closed your on compression stroke and right b4 tdc

hope it helps

remember, my timing chain is off of the car. I'm pretty sure I got it on TDC, the cams were where they should have been, and i lined it up with the mark on the crank pulley.

I just thought, does it matter, if i can move the cams freely anyway, as long as the crank is lined up with the mark on the timing chain, and the cams are lined up? The crank only moves 360 degrees anyway.

I just had a brain fart. The crank moves 360 degrees, and as long as the marks line up i'll be fine.
