i'll also point out to try and find out what's MISSING in the picture - that's the biggest clue.

So are you planning to expose the secret like the other punks on the forum? Yeah, we are brothers but I own the car. The old timing case stuff was from a car with a bad motor so that might have been the problem. We managed to pick up a fully fuctional motor for $50 from my friend who did a DEK swap.

why would i plan to expose the secret?

It sounded like the timing was off hardcore. What exactly was wrong with the bad motor? I'm asking in case I ever get a blown vq30. Good luck with the car, man.

Your beating a dead horse. Nobody is going to straight up tell you the secret IM mod. People are simply saying to do research, the info IS on these forums. I read forever before I even had a small idea of what it consist of and even now im still not 100% sure.

That means you're going in the wrong direction. The mod should be a common sense mod, as in you just need the slightest bit of common sense to make it work. The answer's in your car, not on the forums.

How am I going in the wrong direction? I do have common sense, that doesnt help me with a secret mod. Niether does staring at the engine bay all day, id rather read something and educate myself before I went outside and started pulling things apart.

that sounds nice and all but doesnt that go against everything about the mod? Not saying I wouldnt mind having it but it seems wrong to put a price on it.

$300 is a ripoff. I never charged anyone more than $200 for the work I did. And no you guys can't make SSIMs. You still don't know 100% what I did or not. Therfore you'll be making your own thing.

We know SR doesn't have variable intake anymore. Thus means the vacuumm canister and butterflies inside are gone.

Honestly guys this hoopla over the SSIM is getting old. We all know he's not going to divulge what the SSIM is exactly, and I can understand that people would not understand why or may think it's unfair.

But from talking to him I believe he has some legitimate reasons for it, even if they are not apparent to all, or to those who do not know the history of the situation.

Besides, there is something to be said for pulling apart things yourself and figuring out how they work and how to make them better. You don't have to be an engineer or mechanic. Just spend an afternoon and take it step by step and pull the stock manifold off and look at it. If you have taken the time to look inside a FWD VQ35 manifold and think about how the air is flowing through there at high rpm and how you could modify it to get more air in, decrease restrictions/obstacles, and increase flow, then you will be most of the way there to having a manifold that is just as good as the SSIM. And you can call it your own name and sell it if you want, whatever.

Just my humble $0.02...

I know it's obvious from the picture shown here that it hasn't been done - but would you shorten the runners if you could?

I wasn't serious. I just wanted to know if this is the "throw money to make more power" crowd or the "i'll take a look in my engine bay" crowd

seems to be half and half. throwing money is nice when you have it, but paying 200 or 300 for something that supposedly (judging by those pictures and what i think goes with what is missing) is very easy to do yourself. could even be free, dont have my car right now so i cant look.

Still would be great to do something your self if you could. But the point is, if its possible to do it your self with some guidance from here then why not. I dont get why people keep things soo "OOH AHH, its a big secret!!!" only way you'll know is if you pay me the $200~$300 dollars.

Shows who has the scaly kaffer personalities doesnt it.???

No one really sees the fact that the IM is just a small piece of the 265 fwhp puzzle.......It all works together, but there are many overlooked ingredients.
