Question: blown motor

Ok I blew my Vq30 before and I just got it replaced but apparently it was a ****ty motor too cause it blew in less than 6000 miles I put on it. So anyway I was driving and a loud bang happened near the passenger kick panel like in the engine bay. And I'm like it'll be fine must've hit a rock or somethign. Anyway so I continued driving and I checked the oil about 3 hours into the trip (170mi) and the dip stick was coated in oil from the top to the bottom. So I wiped and did it again and still same thing. So anyway 3 hours later it decided to start smoking and oil was leaking out of somewhere so I swapped out oil thinkin maybe it'd cool it down. No luck. Then I drive it a little longer and it flipped out and ceased up. It was vibrating real bad before this. Right before like when it start smoking. Then it just ceased up. Any ideas on how to fix this. This was 6 hours into the trip. So thanx in advance. I know it's motor work but I don't know where to begin.

Pull out old motor, put in new motor. Preferably a DE-K or a 3.5. Go to car-part.com to do a search. VQ's are so freaking cheap and plentiful that it's not worth fixing anything internal to the engine.

Exactly.

Just a little FYI for the original poster, the dipstick will always be totally covered in oil if you check it while running or just after the car has run.

But yeah anyhing internal is going to be more expensive to fix than just throwing a new motor in, and since you said the motor is seized, you definately need a new one.

I'll pick up any blown motor you have.
