Cleaning a MAF?

Is i possible to clean a MAF with perhaps electrical cleaner. My car had been acting funny lately, so i took the MAF out and discovered it was pretty dirty. Has anyone tried cleaning one of these before. I keep a spare one with me at all times, but would still like to keep the other one if at all possible.

Also, has anyone else noticed that the 5th gen MAF is alot longer than the 5.5 gen? Does one MAF perform better than the other?

Here in town, Advance Auto Parts sells MAF cleaner in a spray can. Saw it in a Sunday ad. I was just thinking about doing the same thing - that's why I remembered the advertisement......

Can you get me a part number or SKU number? Im about 20 hours from being hired by the local advance and they said they couldnt get it and they are smart guys.

I had to go to napa and get some CRC brand maf cleaner. And make sure it is MAF only, the other stuff might damage the sensor.

I think the advertisements got tossed out in the weekly trash, but it was a CRC brand on the picture of the spray can of MAF cleaner.....
