Question For the AUTO TECHS/ TIMING ADVANCE

I was talking to a friend of the family who is higher-up in the Firestone Chain, So I asked the question if they use a consultII unit. I was told no BUT,.... It might be possible the use their 10k unit called.MOTUS sound Familiar? another one was called OTC he said. The question I have first of all to advance the timing has anyone used the device? #2 does the ECU reset the timing after this is done, meaning the ecu deletes the changes made from the unit. #3 whats the process in order to run the program properly, ( cause it damn hard to find a consultII and an end user that is willing to make the change locally) Bump?

someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If your ecu is RAM based it the changes should stick. For us 4th genners with ROM based ecus any changes wont stick, which is why we need a piggyback.

yeah I think your right BUT!! I have a consult cable, with the cable you can change settings but of course they are lost when you turn the car off. AGAIN BUT!! The consult cable just sends serial commands thru consult port so it should be possible to burn a IC that when powered up sends a burst of serial commands that reprogram the car at every start.

discuss.
