Can someone start a sticky with a list of parts that are needed to do a full 6 speed swap on a 5th gen???

 

Tranny, cables, shifter, clutch, master/slave cyl +lines, shiftercables and brackets, and the mount.

 

Do i need to buy a clutch or brake sensor???

 

You will need the park/neutral safety switch. Also add pedals to that list.

 

That's just half the battle. Getting the car started is another story...

i read somewhere that AT 5.5gen STARTER is different then a MT 5.5gen STARTER... is that true????

 

So why is it easier to do on a 4th gen than a 5th gen? Jef at Maximum Tuning got this in his car with no problem and has it running. What is preventing it from running on the 5th gen???

OK... so will my man that started this thread have issues since this is a 5.5 swap? I believe the swap the Matthel was doing was on a 2000-2001.

But like I said, since you have Jeff doing it with a set fee, I think he will get that ish to work. Get the parts!!!

 

That turbomax dude is doing it on an 5.5 gen. I would wait until his issues are resolved before jumping into buying the parts.

 

I think he gave up and is not doing it no more.....

 

if this guy can put a vq35 in a delorian then i should be able to swap in a 6 speed easily... makes no sense...

That the 6-speed will fit easily but the car won't start. Which goes back to post #5.

You should call him to see to how exactly he is going to get around this problem. He claims he can do it.... let him tell you how. Remember that you are paying a professional to do this. You don't have to figure out how you are going to get your car started... he does. So call him and tell him the situation. Then ask him straight up....."Can you get this to work?"

 

yea... he did do the 6 speed swap on his 4th gen but has never done it on a 5.5gen!!!!

 

Stop asking us and ask him

 

So how many people dont under stand incompatable sensors are probably mounted on the flywheel, and thats the issue?

Thats a good point... turbo95max did say on his thread that he dropped the 6speed trans, compared the AT Flex plate reluctor to the manual trans reluctor and the Teeth are the same, but the AT one is slightly smaller in diameter.

yes a33b aka 5.5 gen max. he went from auto to 6 speed and then back to auto.

 

back to auto???? why did he do that????

 

i took his 6 speed tranny for the swap.
