Need Help On Dek Swap Im Stuck!!!!

Anyone have a diagram or something of how all the egr and fuel lines work? and all the other hoses. That is pretty much all I have to do after I rewire the injectors. oh and what did yall do about the part of the wiring harness that only has the back 3 injectors and the oil pan connector on it? did you use that off of your de?

Yea. Use the one off your DE. It goes to the rear of the motor, down the back.

Can't you use the DE-K rear harness, and not have to rewire the rear 3 injectors? All of the other plugs should be the same as the DE?

I dont think the DEK harness has the same clip as the DE. That main large silver harness on the top section.

+1. The clip that connects it to the main engine harness is different.

ok I tried to start in, but no start. heres a list of probs that I dont know how to fix

1. There was no fuel in the fuel lines going to fuel rail from filter
2. my tps on the 4th gen only has one connector the 5th gen has 2 and on my de harness I only have 1 connector to plug in, can I used the tps on my 4th gen tb?
3. Not sure how to hook up all rubber hoses? egr as well? and there are metal hoses im not sure where to hook up.
4. There is a black thing like on the back of the engine bay behind the abs with hoses not hooked up to anything..
5. I made a plate for the bottom of the tb to block the iacv but what do I do with that connector?

Will all that cause it not to start?

Did you swap over the crank, cam sensors? That is needed the DEK's sends out a different singal than the DE does. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. So if you still have the DEK crank and cam sensor in, that also could cause the car not to start.

You sure you have them all hooked up properly going the right way ?? The line from the filter, to the front of the fuel rail, then around the fuel rail to the Fuel pressure reg, then off to the tank return line. Does the FPR have vaccum ??

You can use your 4th gen TPS.
I think the upper cam sensor is different but the crank ref on the bottom by the main crank, I think is the same.
All your grounds hooked up properly ??

Why don't you just ground it to the top of the timing cover? That's what those two bolts are for. I only used one on the DE-K swap i did though and it worked fine.

When you turn the key to ACC you should hear the fuel pump "Prime"...its not going to be coming from the fuel filter locationg.....it will be a buzzing from the backseat that should last about 5-12 seconds.

did you accidently bend the fuel rail return pipe, because I did that and noticed before I went ahead and started the car.

if the car is starved for fuel you should still hear movement, and the car trying to crank. Fuel isnt the only problem. Did you test the crank/cam sensors to make sure they are in proper working order?

havent checked the rail return line, but im not getting fuel from the filter, ill check it when I get home. and I used my crank sensor from my working motor and left the cam sensor that came with the dek so I have not checked them. Could a faulty ground cause the fp not to prime?

I changed my ground and then I got fuel. The car starts not but doesnt stay on. It just cranks and the rpms go up around 2 and then fall down to zero and the car shuts off...any ideas?

ran wire to ground on battery and saw I was getting fuel so that solved the fuel problem then I tried to start her her up and she didnt crank the first time but did the second. Now she just wont stay on.

Vaccum lines..not all. The vaccum hose on front valve cover for the stock air intake system isnt hooked up. the coolant line for the tb needs to be plugged, the egr isnt hooked up all the way. on the back left part of the 00vi a nipple piece or somethin broke off that I guess was used for vaccum so i taped that off.

Im using a plate to block off iacv on the bottom of the tb and none of the connectors for iacv are plugged in. Im using 4th gen tps on 5th gen tb

Yes I tried holding thottle open..seems like it dies faster that way..

When I had my MAF unplugged it would do that, except for dying on its own. It seemed like I was flooding the engine because I wasn't reading any intake air.

Is your TPS adjusted to spec? When it is running do you notice any air leaks(cant miss them).

For the time being, adjust the TB screw to hold the throttle open slightly so that you can manage your air leaks.
