Swapping engines

I thought this was the right place for this , But correct me if im wrong..

I have 2 , 2nd gen's I want to take a crappy engine out of the one and throw it away , Then take the good engine out of the other one and put it in the other one.

I picked up a engine hoist , engine stand And tools.

When i picked up the engine hoist i came home and remembered i tottaly forgot to buy a Chains or some kind of leveler that i can attach to the engine hoist then bolt on to the engine.

This is my first time swapping engines . So im not surpised i forgot all about that.

But i need some advice , What should i get ?

Just chains ( If so what size chains ) , And how would i attach them to the motor.

Or get the leveler.

I just found a engine hoist chain for 40 bucks at autozon online , Im assuming i can use this.

Where do i bolt it to , And what size bolts should i pick up?

Any help would be awsome and heres a picture of the engine im swapping into the 87 maxima.

And is there any thing else i must buy to compelete this swap ?

I have all this i just bought still in the packaging in my garadge.

1 floorjack.
Bunch of tools.
lug nut remover.
axle nut remover.
Engine hoist rated for 2Tons.
Engine stand rated for 750 pounds.
Timming belt.
Gloves.
Cleaning supplies for cleaning engine bay out.
Working light.
Pan for all oil/Coolent.

And the motor.

Thats all i have will i need any thing else?

I've always just used bolts from the car - engine mount bolts, transmission bolts, etc. Any normal sized chain will work really. All you need to level it is a friend and a brain, you'll be able to figure out a decent way to attach the chain so that it sits basically level.

On a VQ30/35, the factory slingers bolt just in front of the exhaust manifold flange on the right and just behind the exhaust manifold flange on the left.

I ended up having to use the head bolts, and the tranny mounting bolts to pull my VG30E. I also had a load leveler, came in real handy. Before you ask, it came with my hoist.

Btw, you're going to have fun pulling it with just hand tools. I ended up using a Impact Gun on A LOT of stuff. It took 2 of us just to break loose the motor mount bolts, Impact had no initial effect.

I just bought an engine hoist chain , For 40 bucks at autozone , It only has 2 latches to attach to the engine , Would that be enough ?

And i dont have a load leveler.

That will be fine, you just need to pick 2 opposite points that will use a decent size bolt. Trial and error will help determine which areas work the best, so don't lift it too high.

I've found that coated steel cables with u-bolt clamps are the shiznit, you can get it all at hardware stores for pretty cheap.
