00VI PCV Valve setup
Its best if you get a reducer a 1/2" to 3/8" barb fitting. The 1/2" side will fit the PCV on the fat side. Just use the 3/8" hose on the other side.
On the same topic but different problem. Has anyone modified the 4th gen rear valve cover with a horizontal barb fitting and is experiencing some yellow liquid coming out. I think the brass barb fitting is deteriorating.

Speedracer, I did, but dont have any yellow liquid...hmmm, maybe its oil + some brass residue?
ajcool, No, it wouldnt. You are running the 4th gen right? Ive got a spare if you want it.

What size reducer? As long as there's no leaks you should be fine, but at the same time you want the IACV to have enough air. Sometimes 3/8" works sometimes it doesn't. Its a hit and miss on different maximas.

It wouldn't throw a code, I wouldn't think. My hose was kinked at one point right after my initial installation and although the IACV wasn't receiving enough air, it still didn't throw a code.
[QUOTE=Tatanko;6294262]How recently did you change the oil?

Change the oil religiously at 4k miles. Its been happening for a while. I thought it was my old oil catch can setup which was the home depot one. But I since changed to one of those ebay catch cans. Its better but I know for sure the yellow residue is from the barb fitting. I'm almost tempted to just get a 5th gen rear valve cover to fix the situation.
