I'm looking to get some feedback on what kind of tranny setups you guys are running with your high HP motors. Shot peened? Cryo Treated? Polished? Duburred? Custom gears? Could I throw some 5th gen parts in the 4th gen bellhousing such as gears, syncros, or even an input shaft for that matter? Any experience with what is stronger? I know only a select few of you have significant work done, but I’m trying to decide what the best route to go will be from this point now that I have the transmission out of the car so that what happened won’t happen again. I need to build a setup that’s going to be reliable, and won’t break on me every 2 weeks (exaggeration). Any and all input is appreciated.
Contact Nealoc187. He had sent his transmission away to have built. Shot peening the gears, and cryo treating them as well is definetly in order. As far as using 5th gen internals, he measured them and they are the same as the 4th gen internals.
