Plug coolant line or T it?

Putting a few last touches on the swap before I turn the key.

There is a coolant line that normaly plugs into the 4th gen TB, there is also another Coolant line that connects to that side pipe (I'm working on pics). These are both coolant lines that have lost their function, should I connect these two lines and let coolant flow all around? or should I plug both lines?

Connecting them should be fine. People do this all the time with the 00VI swap, and it's precisely what I'll be doing.

I figured so, its coolant and flows all around. I'll put a connector between the lines and clamp them.

If you can get a long enough hose to make the full path of both lines connected together that would be best. Reason being is because for some reason sooner or later the coolant will want to trickle out of the connector.

the connector i bought is a little small and I could use a larger one, but they are clamped pretty good.

I'll look at autozone for a long tube to replace it so that there isnt a place for a leak

I have installed the 00VI, and I have a question related to this topic. I am using the 4th gen TB, and I have kept the coolant lines attached. My friend and I discussed that it could be better if the TB was bypassed and just connecting the coolant lines to each other and skipping the TB because the coolant "heats" up the TB. So if the TB would be bypassed and not have coolant lines attached to it, the air flowing through it would not heat up. What do you say?

Plugging it is fine too, if you have the caps, but most just have a peice of hose left over so connecting them together is just as simple. My IM/TB stays dang cool with no coolant running through it. I like having a cooler IM, but it really doesnt make a performance difference.

connect them with a long hose like GTR said, it's better in the long run.

I already saw a few drops leaking from the connection. I'm going to get a long hose and connect them but I tightened the clamps for now, till I work out a few other issues.

You haven't noticed any of the "sticky throttle" issues, have you?
