2nd opinion please

Just got my cattman headers. I have an 03 but for some reson Brian sent me the 99 version with the EGR port which I obviously don't need. To save shipping and double customs Brian says I can plug it up. Not my first choice. But, when I was shopping for prices on the greddy e-manage which I will be using in the setup they salesman said I could use that port (with modification of course) to put the wideband in. Now I thought the wideband should go in the y just in front of the cat. What's the consensus on the wideband location? The EGR port looks a little too close to the beginning of the tube and I'm wondering if it is going to get fried there. Actually now to think of it, will it even work with the bend in the port?

you want the WB to read from both banks...not just one AFAIC

I thought the header y pipe had an extra bung for cali emissions on that model. Thats where I would put the wideband.

there doesn't seem to be a third bung in the y, but I haven't taken all the styro and plastic wrap off yet.

most likely you wont find on on the y-pipe, they dont put bungs on the y-section because if you put an o2 in there it would just set a CEL anyway. people just use sims cause theres nowhere to put the 02. in other words, there isnt another one on the y pipe. also, using the EGR bung for the wideband is a bad idea because you wont get a reading from both banks and you need to have both banks reading even though ever cylinder/bank should be the same

Use sims for your 2 downstream sensors and add a bung in the y-pipe for the WB.

I added 2 to mine. One for my WB and the other for the dyno WB.

Also, the EGR port is no place for a WBO2. For an accurate reading, it needs to be in the exhaust stream. On an extended tube connection, like the EGR port, there is no flow because you will have it deadended with the sensor.

EGR:
I threaded mine and plugged it up with a bolt. Some weld a plug in there. It's not a big deal.

WB o2:
And eng92 states it best as to where to mount a wb o2 sensor bung.
