At the time, I had it opening at 3000 and closing at 5000. I'm still trying to mess with it to see where its best set at.

I've read somewhere that the ideal area is within 3400, but wouldnt it vary on the altitude?

By the way, I have the race on video.. I need to find the program to be able to upload it from my brother's camcorder, but I'll post it here as soon as I do.

The FSM has it set to activate @ 1800 & deactivate @ 3800.
Hopefully I can go down and see it soon.

This weekend didn't work out right.

So I had it set up way too high.. I was completely off.. I'll have to try it and see how it works for me.

That makes sense though.. if it increases torque, it should be set at a lower rpm range... right!?
It will probably take quite a bit of runs for me to see where it feels best at for me.

When you come down, try to make it on a Friday or Sunday... thats when our ghetto drag strip opens... that'd be cool!

Sounds good. I usually go down on a Thursday and leave on Sunday, depending on if it's a paid holiday or not.

Best way, though not cost effective, would be to get some dyno time and see what works for you.

The A32 chassis strapped to a VQ35 shouldn't be too bad even w/o a VI.

I want to dyno it so baad!!!

On my way home from work, I turned the rpm switch down to about 1800 and for it to close at 3800, and it gave it so much more push! The tires dont grip on first and second, and I still spin them in the beginning of third.

I honestly hope its the car and not just in my head LOL!!
I'm gonna run to Circuit City tomorrow to buy the USB port for the camcorder so I can show you all the video... I'm so proud of the loss!!

OH SNAP! That means with EU and UDP with a 3.5 swap and people should be flirting with low 13's. Oh course the Headers does tons, but I don't think many will pony up the extra dough for it. A full 3.5 swap would send that Civic packing.

I do have an UDP.
My car is pretty much complete.... except for the EU, and cams. I'm still not sure if I want to do the V-AFC or EU, I dont own a laptop so it would be more money for me to spend if I got with the EU.

Do you have headers?

Look for an old used laptop.

I do have headers (OBX).

I want to get a laptop, but I need to chill with the cars expenses...I'm trying to buy a house. But eventually, I will. Unless I convince my girl that i'm buying it for her school j/k

The only thing I'm planning on buying soon are better brake pads, street tires (or warranty mine out), and maybe a pair of slicks.

Did you use an 04+ engine for this swap?

if you are not set on using adaptors you could get your cams drilled and use spacers.
This guy here is selling them>> http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=510511
i was there when he did all the measurements did them like 3 times. Tested fitted everything to make sure everything is good. If i were going to spend money on a motor swap i would rather get the spacers than adaptors.

so how did you handle EGR stuff?
and I think 04+ VQ35 has advantages over 02-03.

I used to think so too. The only difference is that that the 04+ VQ's have weaker valves springs. Everything else is the same.

As NISMO said, the 02-03 is slightly more preferable. Plus you can't full 3.5 swap as easy with an 04+ because of EGR. The A33B ECU can be thrown in our car with less difficulty then the A34 ECU. Using an A33B ECU with A34 engine will throw a code or 2 I think.

sorry to OT on this guy's thread, but I read somewhere that the 05/06+ didn't have oil consumption problems that the earlier engines had, and also read that the 02/03 engines that were dyno'd tended to read a lot less HP than the 04+ engines (something like 210whp while the 04+ were going at 225/235whp or so). I know the WHP thing can and probably has to do with the ECU, but you'd still recommend the 02-03 engines over an 04 or 05+?

First off congrats on the swap, nice and clean.

But about the video, I suggest you atleast look for a closed road to race on instead of one with oncoming traffic. That looked very dangerous.
