To those with the 00vi and get the cold startup/stall

Well my variable intake doesnt work electronically, so i decided to ziptie it open just to see how it felt. To make a long story short my car NEVER EVER stays running in the cold. It always starts and then stalls unless gas is applied for a few seconds. However sincei ziptied the vi open the car does not stall anymore in the cold weather. I just though i should inform you guys of the situation, and this fix might be applicable for you. There will be ways to get the vi to open electronically for a few seconds during startup which i will go into once i get back to work.

Maybe you got a bad maf or a dirty fuel filter or a bad fuel pump? Have you checked any of those out? Just wondering

There is definatly a fuel problem, as my car stutters under pressure if i floor it it jerks alot usually in the 60s-80s. But it happens at lower miles to around 40 mph sometimes as well.

My car also stalls right away without applying gas for a few seconds. I don't want to zip tie it open tho. How is the power difference with it open or closed? Have you found a difference? If it's better open I might just set the rpm switch really low at 500rpms or something so it opens on startup and just stays open. I wonder if that will work.

probably i guess its got a little more low end power, but you can just try it ziptied see if it helps your stalling issue. Alot of the stalling has to do with the hose that is connected to the iacv.
