huhm....interesting...
the only reason i ask its because for some odd reason, my FPR is not doing its job.
With the car in idle, i tried adjusting the FPR but there was no difference no matter how i adjust it. So i thought about adjusting it with the car off.
Still no matter how i adjust it, it goes to 65psi once, and when i adjust it again, it goes to 41psi. It only gets those 2 pressures and this is after 2 FPR's i bought. (SARD) first one i bought is used, and the second i bought was brand new....
Im not sure if there is something with the FPR itself, but im starting to think that it is my gauge that may be broken... im going to buy another gauge today and see if that works.
Any SARD user's out there?

alright guys....
i was looking in the H. Manual, and it was stating that our fuel pump from the 4th gen maxima puts out a fuel pressure of 43psi.
that's exacty what i am getting right now, and no matter what i do, i cannot get my Fuel pressure to be at 51psi.
right now, im getting around 41-43 psi on idle.... is it ok for me to drive on that pressure?

wow....ok guys.... i finally got my car rolling today... but just before i thought i was completely done, i ran into a problem...
Ok, here's the story.... hopefully someone can help.

I put my car into 1st gear, start to engage the clutch, and it fully engages.
now when i start driving the car, once i hit the 10mph mark, car seems to just hop suddenly, like i ran over some unexpected huge piece of log..... so i tried shifting to 2nd before it does that, and it shifts no problem...
Only happens when i hit about 10mph on first gear....

-I also realize that the pressure on my clutch is not as it used to be, its a little soft about 30% when i step on the clutch then i get pressure, even though i bled it a bunch of times, its still the same. From what i remember, i think i have to drive around a while to completely build pressure i think...

has anyone had this problem?
any idead what it may be?
thanx guys..

Peter

sounds like something is hooribly askew, possibly a PP or flywheel problem, you're probably going to have to pull the tranny, if it's something else like axles or mounts you'll notice it along the way, that's my vote. But double and trible check for any hydraulic problems first.

I might have missed it, but what kind of clutch are you using? is it a clutch your re-using or brand new?

After you ran over the log, did you inspect for damages.

if you have the haynes manual it instruct you how to set the TPS.
With my VAFCII I adjusted the TPS to read 4v at full throttle and ~.5 volts at Zero throttle.

How do you have the throttle cable set up? Any pics of it?

sorry, i dont have pics right now, but the throtle cable is hooked up to the intake manifold, not to the firewall or anything.

-MDeezy, i did not run over a log, the feeling is like i ran over a huge log.
My car just kicks like i let off the accelerator and all of a sudden hammered it to the ground. That's the feeling i get, but after that, its smooth but then it happens again...

This is so confusing....
you guys think it may have something to do with the tps?

I had something like this happen to my 95 I just bought. But it was worse than you describe. The car bucked like crazy in first gear and even in the other gears at RPM's below 2000.

It was a loose positive battery cable.
