Supercharge vs 3.5 swap

Hey guys,

I've had my supercharger plate kit from matty for a while now. Thing is, when I had gotten the kit I had a lot more money then I do now. I have the plate kit, vortech mondo bov, cartech fmu, and that's about it that's exclusively for a supercharger.

Now that money's kinda tight, I still want my max to get faster. I believe I can sell this supercharger stuff and have more than enough money to get a motor, clutch, and wideband. Do you guys think it would be better for me to sell my kit and do a motor swap (I feel I am capable of doing this) or go ahead with the supercharger?

Thanks,

DF

I just wish I had mo money!!!!

I think this is mainly a question you should answer. which one would you be happier with at the end of the day?

if you'd be happier with the super charger, keep saving and get it installed.

Supercharger would put down (pending on pulley sizes and amount of boost) more power than the 3.5 would

Supercharger would make the car less reliable than the 3.5, but if you have a 2nd car, or can easily get a ride to work, and are mechanically capable. you can have the supercharger as a DD.

3.5 is fun and very torque so its no wimp either. Once done and installed it will be just as reliable as any other vq motor (assuming you take good care of it).

Personally, I would suggest the 3.5. I spent about as much on my setup as a supercharger kit (maybe more) but I have the power of a supercharged setup and reliability of a naturally aspirated motor.

Also, another question that I can't seem to find info on.

Do 5th gen (2000) trip any ses's from a 3.5 swap? The only thing I can think of not liking this swap is the egr stuff....
