Some 3.5 info Needed

I am in the process of gathering my parts for a 3.5 swap, but I cant figure out if you need a rpm switch or not. On the faq's it says yes, but on every write up i've read theres been no mention of it, can someone clear that up for me please. Also was wondering which fpr you guys are running, I dont want to end up buying one that isn't going to work with this setup. Was thinking cheapo obx one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-U...04115734QQrdZ1 Seems like that would do the job with the return line but I just want to be sure before i get it. Thanks.

If you want your VIAS functioning properly, yes, you will what is referred to as a window switch.

RPM switch wont work to get the 3.5's VI to work properly.

It works on an 00VI as it activates a a certain rpm, then STAYS that way until redline.

A 3.5 VI needs to only activate from 1800 to 3600.

If you want the VI to work, you need a WINDOW Switch. This is what the nitrous guys use to start spraying froma certain RPM and cut it off just b4 the shift.

or just modify the IM "in a certain way" and you wont have to mess with a switch at all :-D.

Bolt-on and forget I guess??

You can buy window switches and rpm switches pre-set for a certain rpm for much cheaper HERE

95BLKMAX has the right answer in my opinion. Seems like the overall gains are worth that tiny loss.
