30 Valve covers on 35 head Q's

I know this has been covered before and I generally understand it. In order to use the 30 VC"s I have to use the 30 "Cam end caps". My question is. What is done with the chain tensioners? My 30 tensioner would not bolt onto the 35 heads due to different bolt hole alignment. Okay, so using the 35 tensioner is the next idea. Problem is that there is an oil passageway that would normally go up to the VTC solenoid controller things. In order to use the 30 VC's I have to use the 30 "cam end caps". With this setup the oil passageway will not be sealed against a surface and thus will be pumping out mad amounts of oil and will drop oil pressure and fill the cam compartment with excessive oil. I'm thinking of just welding the passageway shut. Sound like a good idea or no? Ideas?

I had that idea too, but I am not sure what the best way to solve the oil problem.

I'm fairly set on welding the passageways shut. They feel to be cast iron though so I'll have to see how well that works.

If it's just a small oil passagway you could tap it and screw in a flat fastener to essentially plug the hole.

The welding worked out just fine. I got really nice beads on it so I'm not really worried about oil pressure drop. I'll watch it on initial startup and post back results in a week or so.
