Rich on idle 3.5 swap help....

ok guys, i've been dealing with this problem for a while and have no idea why its doing this.
most of the time, when on idle, my wideband shows 11.4-11.8 hella rich....
any ideas what may be causing this? and from a stop, when i start moving, car feels like it wants to die and while that is happening, my wideband displays 10.0 so something's wrong....
what can cause the car to run that rich? bad sparkplugs? any help appreciated thanx.

Peter

Damn Peter this sucks. You have fuel issues you cant figure out, I have ign timing issues I cant figure out.

Do you have codes for the upstream o2 sensors? Bad o2s=open loop=run rich. Also a bad ECTS would do that. If you dont have a code for it take it out (theres 2 on the coolant log, the 1 upfront is a 1-terminal- thats for the gauge, the big one behind it with a 2-terminal plug is for the ECU) and if you see corrosion on the probe, dont bother cleaning it, just replace it (its only $27 from Advance Auto, $32 from Autozone, usually both keep it in stock).

Definetly check the fuel pressure. Should not be 51psi.

my Fuel pressure is at 34psi right now.....
yo whats up Ed. right now i have no cel's for the o2's.
when seeing corosion on the probe, you mean on the o2 itself?
Where is this coolant log located?

im saying the probe of the ECTS (engine coolant temp sensor)

the log is the pipe that goes over the tranny that connects both headers.

There's two coolant sensors on the front of it next to the head on the front. the 1-terminal one if closest to you if ur standin infront of the car, thats for the gauge. The one behind it has a plug and its a 2-terminal sensor, THAT is the one for the ECU (and thus, the one that will mess with ur fuel etc...). Remove that one (I have to remove the gauge sensor to get to the ECU sensor BTW) and check for corrosion on the probe that goes into the log. If anything, dont bother cleaning it, just replace it.

If you have access to an obdII scanner I would check to see that after it's warmed up both banks go into closed loop, you can also check the coolant temp which would indicate any problems with the ects. If it IS going into closed loop, faulty fpr, stuck injectors, or a bad o2 that doesn't toss a code are what pops into my head right now.

alright.... i found the problem...
it was a bad O2 finally the code 0303 poped up.
so popped the hood open to find out that one of the wired (middle one on the O2 Harness) somehow detached itself from the harness itself. i have no room to solder the wire back together and i just spliced it in directly to the O2 wire and for some odd reason, im getting the same problem.
When the wire gets disconnected, is it possible for the O2 to go bad?

Anything is possible, but in this case, unlikely.
