5.5 gen 02 Sensor on 4th gen 3.5 swapped?

so will it work...? i got a code 0303 which most likely its the 02
when i got the 3.5 it came with an 02 that was attached to the headers so kept it just in case and seems like i might need it if it works. what do you guys think?
i dont want to buy one from the stealership they are so expensive.....

Thanx.

Peter

I reused some of my old O2 sensors from the A32 with my new A33B drivetrain. The upstream ones should be interchangeable.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I got "new" O2's with the swap. Which is good cause the old ones were blown.

It seems the only difference is the connector. Both FSM's (97 versus 2002) call for 2.3-4.3 Ohms of resistance at 77 degrees F. So, I would say that the O2's are interchangeable.

They should work. Only thing I would be concerned about is length. You might have to add extra wire. But even if you have to, it's no big deal.

well that didn't work out to well....
i swaped out my 4th gen o2 with the o2 from a 3.5 and still same results....
i was thinking that maybe it was my WBo2 but on normal driving conditions the gauge will bounce back and forth from 14.7 - 18.0 and when i go WOT it still shows --- (Passed 18)
so im guessing that the wb is working properly.
wouldn't i be able to tell a difference when i run that lean?

Peter, why dont you do like streetz does and just disconnect your o2s and tune under 3k (i think you have enough resolution to do this). His car runs 14.0-14.7 from idle to 3k on anything under 40% throttle. His o2s were bad, and eventhough he didnt have a code for them, they still gave a bad reading. Idle would chop and crap out, closed loop was crappy. So he just unplugged them and tuned what was before "closed loop", and altho his current EB is more percise, the AFC was able to do it too. Give it a try, might be simpler.

when running with the o2s unplugged does the car run differently than when the o2 is no good? Ill def try tunning the car for under 3k...

ok weird problem.... i just installed the new O2 and i still get the same outcome.... still running really lean but the code 0303 and 0308 disappeared....
i was under the impression that i was running lean because my O2 sensor went bad...
is there a break in period or something?

And this is a consistant situation? Does it also do the same with no corrections on the AFC? Perhaps fuel pressure problem? What is your fuel situation? (pump and FPR)
