For those who have done the full 3.5 swap

My question is, How did you make the connection for the A/C? Here's my problem. My A/C works but my max has auto climate & I cant figure out why my compressor still runs with the A/C off. im using two 1k resistors at the 8 pin connector under the hood so if anyone have any input please add. I've been looking a both FSM's (2003 I35 & 1997 Max) but just cant figure this out. Thanks Guys. Any & all help would be appreciated.

I'm assuming the thread title means to say "Full 3.5 swap."

Can you please specify the exact terminal and pin you wired the resistors into?

Yeah i mean a full 3.5 swap. Sorry i didnt specify. but im not in front of my FSM at the moment, but i have the 2 resistors twisted together at one end & that twisted end is connected to a white wire. The two free ends of the resistors, one is connected to a black wire & the other is connected to a red wire. all are at the 8 pin connector under the hood. I do know for sure that the red wire goes to pin # 111-AVCC at the ecu. If im not mistaken, the white wire is f17- 4 PDPRES & the black is f17-8 gnd.

Those resistors are fine. They serve to simulate the A33B Refrigerant Pressure Sensor and would render your a/c inoperable if they weren't there.

Sounds like ECU pin #45 (ARCON) isn't getting battery voltage with the A/C switched off (at the controls) like it should be.

With the engine running and A/C OFF (at the controls) check the voltage at ECU pin 45. It's a green wire with a black stripe. You should see battery voltage. If not, that's your problem.

Thanks for the information & thanks for taking care of the thread title too. If im not getting bat. voltage at the stated pin#, what do you suggest I check? because I do know that i have the G/B wire running from the ECU to a G/B wire under the hood to the 8 pin connector. I'll recheck my connections in the morning. Thanks

The B/G wire should be running from ECU pin 45 to pin 8 on the brown 8-pin connector.

I checked the connections from the ecu to pin 8 & to be sure i even reran another wire from the ecu to pin 8 and still the same result. i did check the voltage on that line and its not 12v. R u sure that that it should be 12v from pin 45 on the ecu?

Well I wasn't really doubting that your wiring was good. Just wanted to cover all the bases.

And I'm positive about the reference voltage that's supposed to be at pin 45 with the A/C off at the controls. Check for yourself: '03 I35 FSM, EC section, page 141. I think this is the "improvisation" that eng92 referred concerning getting the A32 auto climate control to work with the A33B ECU. I would contact him.
