Ported VQ35 head flowbench

maxmaxima91 brought this to my attention earlier today.

http://www.m2race.com/product_specs.asp?ID=65

Go to their website to check out the stock VQ35 flow compared to the modified flow of a lot of the other engines like the 2JZ, LS1, LS6, Ford 2V, 3V, 4V, etc, even at much lower lift.

Here is the VQ flow chart.

That's interesting.

When I had various VQ heads flow benched the VQ35 head data I got is similar to theirs, thats good to know.

The conclusion we came to was on a N/A application a VQ35 head has plenty of flow for stock heads. Cams and induction should be looked at first before doing any serious head work.

I guess I made my post unclear. That is just a chart of the VQ. if you want to compare it to others you go to their website and do so. I didn't bother to post a bunch of flowcharts of other unrelated motors here.

i figured that, i couldnt find it on their site either is what i meant.

EDIT: after further searching, i see what you mean. that 325 is better than just about every other finished job there, even some at .8+ lift...wonder what the vq would do with some higher lift springs to get at .8" or so

It's usually OHV engines that have such high lift since there's only 1 valve for intake and exhaust. Can't really compare them lift for lift. Apples and kumquats.

As for the .8" (20.3mm) thing, you'll never see that on VQ heads. The lobe would run into the "lifter" bore. And DOHC heads rarely benefit from cams with over 14mm lift anyway.
