swirl valves to individual throttle bodies?

well I was looking at a Shelby the other day with individual throttle bodies on it, and it got me thinking; could the swirl valve setup in 00+ (99+?) maxima's be used as ITB? it might have to be professionally tuned but i saw VERY impressive gains on other engines

j/w what you guys thought

how could we govern idle control?

Can you post a link to where you saw the other car?

This gets me thinking. I was at Sebring last weekend, and on a 4cyl ford engine, I saw 2 TBs. I think a dual TB setup could be done, and be beneficial on a 3L 6 cyl...of course they were running 12:1 compression so...

However, with the swirl valves, they are past a lot of vacuum lines, so that wouldnt work, correct? I dont necessarily know if you would see any gains, per se, as your intake velocity would be the same.

I think he was talking more along the lines of eliminating the upper manifold entirely and maybe putting velocity stacks on top of the lower manifold.

Isn't there another thread about this? Top Secret did something for the VQ35 and it seems to have worked. But as far as the DE-K goes, it would be custom and very costly.

Ok, so it seems like there are engines/manifolds/etc out there, but has anyone used the swirls? What would be needed? Just converting the springs, throttle cables, pulleys, etc, right?

What about a MAF?

That’s where a lot of the challenge lies. ECU/MAF/MAP/etc.
