I realize I'm no expert at this, but I'm liking the N/A idea. I'm just reading along and trying to have as much input as possible. http://www.intensepower.com/aevqstkitg35.html
And info about the kit: http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/june04/aebs/

I say put a vq30 crank and rods in it, all bolt-ons, aggressive cams, nismo oil pump, and tune it to 9k rpm...

I thought the HR oil pump was superior to the nismo.

The way to go is DE/HR hybrid. HR pistons, valve springs, double shim, IM, aftermarket cams....

Didn't dandymax have an HR pump that he blew up?

I forgot to mention high comp pistons and HR double shimmed valve springs. With the vq30 crank and rods, it will create an 8.5 to 1 compression ratio with oem vq35de pistons. Since this is an NA build, he'll need higher comp pistons.

Why would the HR pump be superior to the Nismo?

I don't have an HR pump. Has anyone actually used any bottom end HR parts in a build yet?

No offense, but this is quite possibly the worst suggestion yet.

It was a revup oil pump. And its demise didn't really have much to do with its capabilities. An HR pump would have most likely blown up as well in this case.

Sorry. I made a mistake. I meant the rev-up oil pump, not the HR. What I forgot is that dandymax blew his pump up.

That price is either for a shortblock or just the parts and machine work. That's not a complete motor.

Regular built motors with stock heads and stock cams go for like $6500 for the entire long block.

So the link that someone posted for $8,100 is for an entire motor with built internals?

No, actually. It's the block, pistons, rods and crankshaft. Needs oil pan, heads (everything involved with heads) and intake manifolds.

None of these stroker kits come with anything more than the crank, rods, and pistons (and sleeves if the bore is also going to be expanded).

Do you know if they affect CR?

If it's built for all motor puposes, I would assume a highter than stock CR.

Larger bore typically = lower CR, I’m wondering if they ‘compensate’.

I know there is no hard evidence, but this guy seems pretty reputable. BTW, this was achieved on a VQ30 not a VQ32, like I'm suggesting.

It may be easier to get to 280-287whp than 300. I would say(as someone mentioned), find out if your ECU can be reflashed by Technoquare, JWT S2 Cams, IM spacer, smaller pulley, CAI, equal length headers, tuned AFC.

Provided you have LSD and some slicks, you lookin at low 12s, high 11s if you're lucky.

He may not have much room in the already clamped engine bay.

Why not just get a dyno run with AFR, and send the run-files to TS without getting an AFC?

Sick setup, no doubt, but de-stroking a VQ35 still doesn't make any sense IMO.

Just my opinion, but that doesn't seem like the best option. It likely won't be as fine tuned and he can't make adjustments down the road if he makes changes. It would, however, save money.

True, and I agree with that...but in my case, it doesn't seem as if many tuners would even touch my car...****ers!

So that is probably going to be my best bet, unless Osiris accepts my offer of sending in my spare ECU so that they can test out the UpRev program on a 6th gen

Back on topic.

Try the SSIM, raised rev limit and rod bolts and see if that satisfies you for now. YOu can always add in a Landrover MAF (iirc 82mm) but you will have to tune for it.

lol shhhhh. dont reply to me I dont want it to go off topic.

So...they adjust your timing with the reflashed ECU at technosquare right? how much do they advance it usually for the 3.5 swappers, i wasnt aware they even had reflashes available for us.

Enough talk about the TS ECU. It's only for VQ35 ECU's, aka 2k2 and up. Back on the ORIGINAL topic or I will start deleting some posts.

Is it really that hard to reach 300whp N/A?

I'm a total noob with VQs but I just pulled 254.9 today, I/H/E and full standalone with a good tune. Granted I plucked the A/C and power steering before I put the engine in.

I'd imagine a set of cams would set me over the 300whp mark.
