high pressure fuel pump and AFPR = good?

I have the 3.5 swap (bought it like that), I am not sure if the fuel pump has been upgraded. Do I need or want a high pressure fuel pump like the Walbro, if I currently have my fuel pressure set to 20 PSI at idle? Does the high pressure fuel pump have any effect if running an AFPR?

Im just trying to weigh out all options as to why no AFC will show me results when I go tuning. MAF seems to be unaffected.....but car runs perfectly fine.

what will yield best results? more FP, then take away fuel with AFC to increase timing?

what is the outcome of having less FP then adding fuel back with the AFC?

Essentially, right now I have tuned the car with just the AFPR. Since the VAFC2's corrections have no results. So, do I still need the VAFC2? No, right? The VAFC2 would only be used to fine tune it?

I would find the problem instead of 'tuning' it in that even more 'raw' manner.

the high pressure fuel pump is just that, high pressure... With the AFPR, you can make the necessary adjustments to maintain your required FP...

how did you "tune" the car with the AFPR? Do you have a WB?

I adjusted the fuel pressure until I got a 13.5-13.8 AFR. Yes, of course I have a WB, how else would I tune it....? lol

odd.. but interesting method.

Why didnt you leave it at stock fuel pressure and tune via wideband/vafcII? your corrections should show results in a lower or higher (depending on your intentions) A/F ratio, if not then there is a problem somewhere.

well what made you say, you'd rather tune with the fuel pressure rather than pulling/adding fuel?

have you dyno'd?

how exactly are you tuning via fuel pressure, you just dropped it till you saw 13.x accross the band?

I don't think I stated that anywhere, I just said thats how I have it done because regular tuning wasnt working for me. and I know how it works because I've tuned my other car with the VAFC2 perfectly fine...

No dyno.

Yes.

Hmm are you sure you have the MAF wired correctly to the VAFC? Do you get any voltage readings?

if the maf wasnt wired correctly the car either wouldnt start or would start very rough and stall... must be something else.

I still have not done any voltage tests, BUT when I disconnected the VAFC2 subharness for ****s and giggles, the car died....and the only line that is cut and signal going through it is: nothing else but the MAF....... :stumped:

Yea, the car runs perfectly fine, no stalling, no hesitations, no bull whatsoever.
