Some More Pathy IM Photos...

Got some more shots - and a few measurements - of the Pathy UIM... Pictures of the stock 3.0 intake gasket - this will fit on the VQ30, once the long runners are trimmed and filled.

Attach a throttle cable to the butterfly shaft, and you won't need a TB....

Thanks for the follow up measurements, the only reason this came up was with MOHFPro90 did his 00vi swap and I noticed he had scratches on top of it from the hood (strange I know) and when I went and looked at your pics it looked tall. but the good news is this actually has the same height as the 00vi.

You have PM btw

I really can't wait to do this, that I may do it now during the summer, and dyno the results

I will completing this project in due time, I am buying this IM from grey and I should be done with this in December...but I was thinking about doing this ahead of schedule to dyno the gains that could be had from it, so expect results this June.

so cutting the long runners and filling them, eliminating the TB and just using the VI butterflies as TB....

Grey it seems you found a way for the 3.0 crowd to make a set of SOMEWHAT Individual Throttle Bodies with on a super short intake runner length. Sounds like a top end beast. I wouldnt mind a setup like that with some boost :-D

Well, I need to get off my azz and send the sample to DaveVQ so he can blaze the 3.0 manifold trail. I've just been prepping my car since decent weather is finally here - I was going out Thursday nite to a local Test-n-Tune, but now rain is back in the forecast, so maybe not.

Did you notice that this manifold comes off a Pathy 3.5? I wonder if the Pathy LIM would bolt up to a FWD 3.5? If so, would the Pathy manifold also go onto your engine?

I have yet to decide if I will use the butterfly valve or a Pathy TB, I may try both and see what the gains are for both. My only reason for saying this is that I want to also port this IM out

I think the butterfly valve idea would be cool cause in theory it is just like individual TBs. I can pick up a pathy TB for cheap ($50) so I think it would be worth it to see which way is best

Okay on second thought I'm just gonna can the whole idea for the Pathy TB and just do this with the ITB idea. Kyle(MOHFPro90) and I have been talking and we have an engine laying around now so we will be test fitting with it. For the NA portion of my project I will have the intake opening pointed towards the rear, when I go SC I want to try and have it point foward (this should prove to be a huge benefit especially if it works, or am I mistaken?). I will be porting out this IM as much as I can. Hey grey can I get a size on those valves in mm?

Not unless you have the Pathfinder VQ35 heads; the intake ports are different, IIRC. Physically it should bolt up, but flow would be obstructed to all hell.

The throttle bores are all 42mm. The butterflies close very tightly, and there is an adjustable stop for the butterfly shaft....

Dave, we could just bore it out by 5mm or whatever is allowable and get a machine shop to cut us some new plates. Cost would be low if we just get blanks(and drill the holes ourselves).

Find an old stock TB, and couple the shafts together so that the hacked TB TPS moves with the butterfly shaft - and use the cable guides for your throttle cable??

Or something like that

In case anyone is interested, there's one on ebay (upper and lower) for 45+shipping. Not mine, I just saw it earlier and remembered this thread.

Just know...if you buy that, I expect another writeup like the 00VI thread!

I'm sticking with my 00VI for now...really curious to see where all this goes though!
