00VI help: Vacuum leak & A33 IACV?

I had a vacuum leak ever since I did the 00VI. I recently replaced UIM gasket with a new A33 one, it got rid of one of my leaks(apparently, I had 2, I thought I only had 1).

Now, I cant find this one for the life of me. To test for leaks, I sealed my TB opening, took the brake booster line off and blew through the hose (and wherever air came out, there was a leak). It worked well to find my UIM gasket leak, but its not working for this one. I also removed my EVAP system, since the purge volume control valve is bad, but it didnt fix it.

This leads me to my IACV. Could it be possible that this is bad? Opening and closing? Or just stuck open? What are the symptoms of a bad A33 IACV on an 00VI swap?

Thanks in advance.

The A33 IACV has a recessed gasket, check to see if that gasket needs replacement

what are your symptoms?? i thought i had a leak as well when i did mine but it ended up being something totally different. if you kept your stock 4th gen IACV, you may not be getting the proper air flow. in a 4th gen the IACV is bolted right to the upper IM, so the air goes straight from your air intake through th IACV. this is not true after the swap. you probably have it hanging off to the side somewhere. i got a whole new block that includes the IACV back into the flow of the air intake. that block alone fixed like 4 problems i was having (start and stall, low idle, uneven powerband). this may be your problem. if it is let me know. i am taking my 00VI off next week to return to stock and i will have the block available if you need it. good luck!

I dont have a vacuum leak, its not possible. Ive tested so many times.

Using the A33 IACV.

I have one code right now. 0205. This wouldnt cause a fluctuating, high idle would it?

yes i belive it would since it throwing the code probley for the sensor. when you hooked up your sensor did you rewire it??? or did you just hack the sensor to make it fit?

take a look at these from the fsm. as you will see the wires from the 4th gen and the wires from the 5th gen are numbered diffrent. i had to switch mine around as well and i havent had the the p0505 code since so maybe give it a shot.

ive just heard various of ways to hook up the 5th gen iavc harness(backwards, straight up, or this way) but like i said i havent thrown a code for the iavc since so its worth a try. or else maybe the sensor is just shot

either which way good luck kyle!

Well, wire numbers wouldnt matter necessarily, its more of what wires do what. I.E. Ground, Power, Voltage, etc etc. Ill look it up, thanks for the suggestion.
