wideband o2 question

i've got a wideband O2 coming in the mail and i've got a quick question.

if i just replace an o2 sensor from the exaust temporarily and plug in the wideband, will i be able to read out the voltage from the consult port like i can with narrow band o2 sensor? or is there no way around getting the rest of the O2 kit.

No.

What type of sensor is it? Why do you think that it'll have the appropriate connector (not to mention wiring, voltage input and response, etc) as a stock unit?

Anyway... no.

its a sensor from an lc-1 kit. connector doesn't worry me (splice wires? ) i don't care about voltage input as i can control this. however i was more curious if you splice into the o2 connector on the o2 sensor, would the consult read the extra 5 volts or would it max out at 1..

doesn't matter anyway, i've bought the o2 wideband controller that goes with this o2 sensor.

So you'd really hack up a WB02 vs just getting a controller for it?

You can control voltage input? Like, the reference voltage sent to the stock O2s, vs whatever reference voltage the LC1 WB02 needs? How about wires for the heater? The upstream O2s are non heated, IIRC.

Chances are the ECU would have no idea what was going on re: 5v sensor and would just throw a CEL for the O2, who knows what it would display through OBD-II or CONSULT-II.

when all up its going to cost me $300 then yes, i consider the possibility.

another question. the controler that i'm getting apparently can "fake" narrowband O2, if this is the case, can i replace one of the narrowband O2 sensors, do my tuning and when its all done turn it into a narrowband o2 sensor? i don't really want to go to the effort of welding on a new bung on my stock intake when chances are i'm going to be replacing with a y pipe shortly anyway.
