safc / wideband questions
Hey guys, i have a maxima with headers, full exhaust, underdrive pulley and an intake.. Well i came across a really cheap safc off of my friend so i bought it. well heres my question, is it worth it buying a wideband/data logger (they cost about atleast $300 in my research with the rpm guage converter in the datalogger) or should i pay $150 and have my car dyno'd and tuned. I know the advantage of having a wideband/datalogger is that i can tune it whenever I want, but i don't plan on tuning it alot im going to tune it for my car now and im leaving it the way it is for a while, then i will tune it one more time when i get my vq35 swap so do you think its worth the money of buying a wideband/datalogger or just put the safc in and go get my car dyno tuned? thanks alot- cory d

Well i told you my thoughts about this since you do plan to upgrade your car in the future. To me it would be better to tune it your self instead of paying to have it dyno tuned each time.

Is this a poll? If so, I vote WB w/ DL (RPM) capability.
I got my PLX R300 for about $430 shipped and really like it, as it not only logs AFR, but also speed and other parameters.
A dyno 'tune' is only as good as the 'tuner'. If you're posting this question in here, it's a no brainer. If you were posting in any other portion of the org, just get the tune.
It's also a useful tool, since you cans ee how intakes and other mods change / affect AFR.

ahhh, i'm pretty sure i could figure it out if i got one and such, but it just seems soe expensive buying a wideband for like 300+ just to tune my car once when i can go get a dyno to do it for me and be done with it! anyone have any widebandss or know where i can get one for cheap? thanks
