(6-Speed MT) Transmission Issue

Hello guys, first I want to apologize if this is the wrong forum but you guys seem to be the most knowledgeable and honestly am not even going to attempt to post this in the 5th gen section.

The story is rather indepth, to start...

I had rebuilt my transmission a few months ago and due to misreading the FSM we put the reverse sleeve on the wrong way. This effected reserve as follows:

When I shifted into reverse I would be able to move backwards but above roughly 2000 RPM the car would kick me back into neutral

If I was not kicked out of gear (keeping it below 2000 RPM) and moved the car into neutral I would still be in reverse until I shifted into another gear

No other real problems were noted.

well, we had a car meet at my work and I decided to back into a spot (one thing I rarely do) in doing so I put the car in neutral (note the above problem that occurs when I do that "and moved the car into neutral I would still be in reverse"

I had not thought about that, well we had installed a remote start a few months ago as well and removed the clutch kill switch. None the less you can guess what happened, I started my car up, it sounded like it was going to die (for a few seconds the RPMs got really low like it was low on battery or was going to die) and then sounded fine, and idled fine, however I am un able to shift into any gear.

We dropped the transmission the following weekend and inspected everything and everything looked fine. Now we are able to shift into all 6 gears aside from reverse.

If you guys have any suggestions please throw them forward.

I don't have any concrete answer but it sounds like a cable issue
