Transmission compatibility question

I have an '01 SE 5-Speed (non-lsd). The transmission bell housing has a hole it in. I have access to a 4th gen 5 speed transmission and I am trying to figure out if I can use the bell housing from it on my 5th gen.

yes. it will move your shifter forward about an inch though. you can swap the collar on the striking rod that bolts to the shifter to remedy that if you want.

Are all trannies from 95-01 compatible? I have an 00 se that needs a new tranny and lsd's are too expensive.

Also, how can I tell which transmission I currently have in my car? Anyone have a picture of both trannies?

Sorry to thread jack!!
