5-Speed swap in 5.0 gen

Ok I can't find anything on this, only 4th gen's with 5-speed swaps.

I was just wondering how different it would be in a 5th gen? Reason why I ask is a local member bought a 4th gen parts car and I'm looking to get the parts off him to complete a swap. Are the part listing the same?

Also I noticed on 4th gens they don't need an ECU swap. Would I need to swap my 5th gen ECU? (please say no as the Greddy EU wiring looks crazy lol).

BTW this is not 100% as I'm starting to get rust and a paint job may be in the works instead. So I may just buy the parts for now and wait.

Mostly the same, short of clutch master, pedal, and pedal bracket assy. 4th gen trans and shift rods/shifter assy should work just fine, though your shifter will sit further forward; don't know how much of a problem there will be with that.

No need to swap the ECU, you'll just experience some random quirks that come with an auto ECU and a manual trans. Why do you worry about the EU? No need to change wiring harness when swapping the ECU, though you would need to have it and your keys reprogrammed.

Also, not quite an AM topic, IMO.

Thanks for the link.

I thought I'd post here since I found some 4th gen 5-speed write ups here.

I think the 5th gen shift linkages are a little different from the 4th gens, maybe someone can confirm.

I know the yoke on the striking rod is, and I believe the shift rod is as well.

Regardless, I'm using a 4th gen trans and everything shifter related is from a 5th gen on my car.
