automatic engine/ manual car

i have a 95 manual maxand i want to swap out my engine with a 97 max that is automatic! im assuming that it should be a dirrect bolt up, but im not sure! also i have the greddy eu piggyback, with this set up would i still have to change the stock computer to a 97 computer or is it the same tune! if its a lot of hassle with the swap then ill just work with what i got!

Only the trans. is Auto or Manual, not the motor

...No, no reason to change the ECU just because you're swapping years. You will of course have to swap over some emissions equipment from your original motor, given how much things changed.

How exactly is this an AM question?
