VQ35DE OIL BURNER???

ok i have a 98 maxima and about to get the 3.5 motor to do the swap. i've been asking around and gettin mixed answers. some folx telling me that the 3.5 motor is a pain in the rear, and it burns oil like crazy. i asked a nissan technician, and he said only the 3.5 from the g35 had a TSB for high oil consumption. i spoke to two friends with 02 maximas, and they say they dont have that problem. is this rumor true, or just some people get the bad apples?. I know it would be easier to swap the DE-K in, but i think i have more power potential with the 3.5, but that oil burning thing is something to think about

Deciding what is worthwhile is purely up to you. Mine seems to burn oil, but I dont know how much yet since it leaks oil out of the valve cover as well. The only other issue I have is I have some valve ticking whenever I start the car up sometimes, which I hear is another "common" problem.
I am definitely putting in at LEAST 2 quarts between oil changes. I hope this goes down considerably once I fix the leak.
As far as the valve ticking....i donno . Maybe it will be on my mind enough to do a rebuild in the future.
