I've been trying to search on here but haven't been successful so far. So if you can help I would greatly appreciate it as I continue in my search.

I just totalled my 96 max. I was getting ready to swap in a 3.5 with tranny but that obviously is not going to happen. So I've decided to just move up to a 5.5 gen. I've been looking for a 6spd, however they all seem to be more expensive than an auto. So I got to thinking, I already have all the tranny stuff, maybe I could swap my 6spd into an automatic and find a good price on a max since so many are automatic.

So my questions are: has anyone done this? how difficult would this be? are there any pointers anyone could offer for this swap?
