a few timing questions on the 3.5 swap

Ok i set the timing on the 3.5 last night and i wound up having the dowls on both banks for the cams pointing straight up like so

(credit ajcool2 for pic)

All my timing marks are right on the money. I was just want some confermation that this is good. I ask cause most of the pictures ive seen one bank dowls have been pointed up and the other bank was in the down postiton. Also on cylinder #1 the lobes are pointed like /\ and the lobes on cylinder #4 on the other bank are pointed like \/. which i belive would put them both on TDC.

Also when i crank to check to see if i miss a tooth will any of the timing marks ever line back up?? And or will the cam marks ever line back up or will it need 134,543(some ramdom #) revolutions when it finally puts it back to all the timing marks(for everything)

AFAIK the timing marks on the main chain are unlikely to line back up with the marks on the sprockets, just how it is.

If your timing marks are good (or there's the correct number of links between sprocket marks) then you should be just fine.

All right thanks man. I figured that was the case since ive read over and over about it. Some of the guys at the shop didnt belive me that all that is needed is that everything just needs to line up, and that it wouldnt line back up after cranking a few times.
