Weird Issue with the Cranksensor
Well here is the problem Im having last week Ive been driving back from home and I've hit a really big bump on the highway nothing new for NYC. Well after hitting it my rpm gauge hits zero. So I pull to the shoulder only to find that it seems that my cranksensor hell out from its position and the screw is missing so i find some other screw in my car and get off the highway and make it home next morning I find that the sensor make way to close to the flywheel and got a made a mark so I purchased another one from the dealer and installed and now im having an issue with the car staying running. It starts no problem but dies right away unless you give it gas and while your applying gas the car sounds like its misfiring but I dont have a misfire code. I cannot figuar out the problem. One of the wires on the connector broke off but I was able to fix that. And still having this issue. Any suggestions would be great.
Car specs: 98 with 95 ecu with 3.5l motor and 3.5l cranksensor the sensor.
Note the swap was done over 2 years ago and It was running without the problem.

Yes it seems to exist. I even did the test that they mentioned in the FSM where you bring a magnetic object and because of mutual inductance the voltage changes
Have you tried using the 4th gen CKPS?? I didnt even know you could use the 3.5 CKPS with the a32 ecu. I was under the impression this is why people had to shave off some of the hole. So you could line up the 3.0 CKPS........
Maybe you damaged the Timing ring?

yea ive tried putting the 4th gen ckps and the car starts but really bad it takes alot of cranks and its basically the same issue. With the 3.5 ckps it starts right away but it doesnt hold idle it dies but if you give it gas it hold idle rough and it sounds like its miss firing. I dont think its the flywheel
You can use the VQ35 CKPS POS if you use the VQ35 upper oil pan, and modify the wiring, IIRC.
